The EBEM Group is proud to offer you 2 tracks for the 2008 Workshop. These small group tutorials have been well received by the academic EM community and are proven winners in our Workshop.

    Teaching EBM 101
  • The Evidence-Based Medicine workshop at the NY Academy of Medicine is dedicated to the needs of Adult and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians. Other specialty participants are welcome.

  • The workshop is aimed at academic faculty members who are seeking to develop teaching skills in Evidence Based Medicine.

  • Our workshop has a 3 to 8 (faculty to participant) ratio with emphasis on the development of teaching skills relevant to small group sessions. Each of our small groups incorporates a medical librarian tutor who is skilled in searching the medical literature.

  • We provide the use of an integrated online desktop, developed in collaboration with the Centres for Health Evidence (CHE), for the purpose of extending the educational value of the workshop outside the confines of the 3 day experience in New York.

  • TAKE NOTE: This interactive WORKSHOP will require your active participation and presentation in small group tutorials.

Openings Available in the Special Project Groups Workshop:

    Resident Rising Stars Program
  • The Resident Rising Stars Program is a track created for incoming chief residents charged by their respective programs with creating and running the evidence-based medicine curriculum at their sites, as well as incoming senior residents who demonstrated particular skill in starting and maintaining viable and important scholarly activity. Participants in the program will be taught basic and advanced skills in generating clinically relevant questions, searching for evidence, critically appraising articles on a range of topics, and applying the newly obtained knowledge to the care of patients. They honed these skills in real-time teaching exercises with guidance from experienced EBM tutors.

  • TAKE NOTE: This interactive WORKSHOP will require your active participation and presentation in small group tutorials.
